Professional Photographers seeking their Master Artist Degree can now sign up of to be notified when these new courses are released
As a member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), I often travel and teach various courses about compositing and painting to groups of photographers. I get questions at times about the Master Artist degree program with PPA. Many professional photographers seem to be interested in pursuing their Artist degree but are unsure where to begin.
The whole process of the artist submission may seem a bit daunting. There seems to be so many different types of art and many photographers are not sure where to get dedicated training about art for PPA merits.
So, I decided to build this video to try and explain some of the types of art that might be submitted for a PPA art merit and I plan to build some courses dedicated specifically to photographers preparing to begin their Artistic journey.
In the next months, there will be four courses released in compositing and painting. I will also include discussions on some of the pitfalls to avoid with art submissions, lessons I learned with preparing an image for submission, some of the things the judges are looking for with art submissions and I will show you some techniques to conduct your own “self-critique” prior to sending your image off to Merit Image Review (MIR). I even have a free video already on the site for framing (or adding that digital mat) to your art.
For now, you can review this short video. It’s about 18 minutes and will discuss the various types of art and also show you my experience in this area. Then you can decide what you are interested in pursuing for your Master Artist degree.

Next steps. Go to my Learning Center and register your name on the notification form so that you will get an email when the course material is released and available.
