My website is branded “The Pixel Mixer” because my passion is capturing digital pixels and making something creative with them.
I bought my first digital camera, a Nikon D90, in 2009, but I've been an avid Photoshop user since the early 2000's. I have been painting with the mxier brush since it was introduced in version CS5.
Always a student of Photoshop, I study and teach advanced Photoshop techiques, photo manipulations and digital painting. I also pursue image competitions, photo artistry training and magazine submissions, art contests and other artistic ventures.
I'm twice retired, serving 22 years in the US Navy healthcare field and 20 years as an IT consultant. After retirement I traveled as often as I could but now spend most of my time in Texas, enjoying my time with my photography, art and teaching.

The Master Artist (M.Artist) degree is awarded to photographers for their superior artistic skills in digital and traditional art, advanced education, and service to the industry.
The Master of Photography (M.Photog.) degree is awarded to photographers for their superior photographic skills demonstrated by image excellence in portraits, illustrative, commercial, reportage, and albums, as well as advanced education, and service to the industry.
The Photographic Craftsman (Cr.Photog.) degree is awarded to photographers for their service as a speaker, author, or mentor. This degree shows that you have gone beyond the creation of images and dedicated your time to move the industry forward and encourage education.
